VOCAL PLUMBER FOR SINGERS AND ACTORS

Have you ever wondered why you are not becoming a better singer, even when you are paying someone to "teach" you singing?
Do you wonder why it is not as easy and as natural as talking? Have you wanted to find your own unique identity as a
performer, and can't find anyone to help you? Do you really think you have more than one voice, such as a "head voice" or "chest
voice?" Has someone ever told you to "lift your eyebrows for high notes?" There are many myths in the vocal world, and these
are just a few of them.

It's time to come back to reality and really understand that singing is as natural as speaking, in fact even more so. Every child
sings, keeps tempos and rhythms before they talk. "Before they talk." Singing is a natural function of the human voice and
does not require complex and ineffective exercises. You have one voice and you can use it now and forever if you understand how
it all happens. Simple, easy, direct and proven results can happen for you as they have happened for so many others.

Learn, understand and use your voice the same way the greatest legacies of our time have done. Barbra Streisand, Frank Sinatra,
Judy Garland, Steve Perry, Janis Joplin, Grace Slick, Tony Bennett, Tina Turner and many more have all learned how to do this.
Notice the women, now in their 60s can still sing and perform and sound wonderful. They never strayed from their natural voice and
it will continue to serve them as long as they choose to perform.

More importantly, and rarely talked about, your unique artistic vision will make you stand out in a crowd. You can learn how to
access your artistic intuition and use it so you become interesting and moving. Singing is an emotional art form, not a technical
one. You learn to use your voice solely as a platform to express, with the lyrics of the song, specific emotions as you unfold the
story for the audience. Look at the greats, all of them unique, all of them sound like themselves, not a technique. You don't want
to be Tony or Tina, you want to be you, an original.

I can coach you on your voice, how it works, how to make it strong, stable and supple. More importantly, I will work with you to
create inspiring moments that galvanize the audience because of what you are singing about and how you approach it. You need
both, to be a success. Unique voice, unique identity.  I will never ask you to do anything I have not done. I am a Grammy
nominated singer, not a piano player who picks up exercises and says "I'm going to be a vocal coach." I can teach you how to use
your voice, how to be you, musicianship, recording studio essentials, songwriting, stage do's and don'ts, how to create a dynamic
show and everything else you will encounter in your career. I know what it's like to be scared and how to learn to use it to your advantage.

You have something special, let's find out what it is and make some of those dreams come true.

Studios in Los Angeles and Palm Springs

Biography:

Grant began his career singing as a small child (I told you it is natural) and has been in the business all of his life. He has done musicals,
rock and roll, pop, adult contemporary and much more. He is a Grammy nominated singer and songwriter, with a proven track record.
Grant was trained by Judy Davis, legendary coach to all the greatest stars for 50 years. Unlike other coaches, I will NOT list my clients
as some incentive for you to pay me. My clients include the biggest and longest career stars as well as young children, teenagers, singer
songwriters American Idol contestants, and everything in between. Singing is for everyone, whatever your wish may be. What you
need to do is to pay attention to what is happening with your current coach, if you have one. Are you rapidly improving in all the areas
above, or have you been at this a couple years without a great deal of change? Think about it.

Write to me, talk to me, and trust your instincts. You will definitely be happy with the results, I guarantee it.

Each client is treated with dignity and respect for their artistry, their fears, and their musical integrity. You will learn to choose music
that moves you and thus moves the audience.

We don't simply train singers, we also make records with our clients and help direct and guide our artists careers. The particular goals I strive to achieve with every client are to increase range and power, improve tonal quality, ensure pitch accuracy, eliminate vocal problems that could lead to injury, instill confidence, and create a sense of ease in singing. I love to help develop and nurture new talent, to hear a song being sang with emotion and spirit and ability.  Vocal training is not meant to be boring, if all you sing are exercises, then ask yourself," where are you going to sing these exercises"?, I have yet to attend a concert consisting of vocal exercises. Vocal sessions are recorded on cassette tape or CD, this enables the singer to have practice material to review at home after the session. All sessions are individually noted as to progress and homework studies. I guarantee the results on the very first lesson. This means that you will experience a noticeable difference in your ability to sing immediately.

All levels of training. Children age 8 and up. I also record, produce, write, and arrange music for the singers I train. My specialty is writing music for lyrics/poems written by my students. All styles.

Biography:

I've written one of the best-selling books in the world about singing, Can You Sing a HIGH 'C' Without Straining? Singers have flown from around the world to train with me after reading my book. I began teaching full-time in 1982 and now do a lot of record producing, recording, writing, and arranging of music for the singers I train in my slammin' cool recording studio. My students have sold more than 25 million records.
In 2005 I published a new book, NEVER GET ANOTHER COLD. This is the first book in history to present a solid, proven way to stop colds and the flu. I researched people who never get sick and discovered they were all eating a similar diet. I called it The NEVER GET ANOTHER COLD Diet because one of the first things people (singers) notice is that they immediately stop getting sick with colds and the flu.
Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger – "I truly admire the time and talent you have devoted toward writing a book that provides motivation for others to live a healthy life. I have no doubts as to the success of your proposal...” (to wipe out or significantly diminish the cold/flu season in
California using the book NEVER GET ANOTHER COLD).
Lawrence W. Cooke, President of the Laguna Senior Medical Group – "The world has needed a remedy for the common cold and flu for a very long time. Thank God that Thomas Appell has come up with a viable solution."
My books are available at all Borders book stores

If you wish to sing higher, louder, longer, or stronger, then I can help:) I have worked singers of all styles from beginner to professional, with an emphasis in rock singing. I also work on developing vocal endurance and explaining methods to improve vocal health to touring musicians.

Biography:

My studies are the result of the hunger to improve my own voice, extend my range, and eliminate vocal fatigue. I studied at the Musician's Institute in Hollywood California, but learned most of my skills by trial and error, reading, watching, and studying every book, DVD, and method on the market, and countless conversations with rock stars. I am the author of Raise Your Voice and The Ultimate Breathing Workout. I am also the first singer in history to shatter a wineglass by voice alone. I've been seen on Good Morning America, The Discovery Channel show, MythBusters, and the Sonic1 toothbrush infomercial, demonstrating my rare and unique talent. I am the creator of the unique "Vocal Stress release" warm up program. Although my technique lies in developing a strong pure sounding voice, I have methods for rock singing to enable you to scream without losing your voice. My first professional client that benefited from this approach was Epic Recording artist, Phil Tayler, of Future Leaders of the World. Teaching Phil how to scream properly, by first developing his pure tone, has helped to save his voice and promises a bright future in recording and touring:)
